GoWild is a unique online platform designed for outdoor enthusiasts who are passionate about exploring nature and all its wonders. As avid outdoorsmen and women ourselves, we noticed that mainstream social media channels were not catering to the needs of this particular niche group. In fact, we realized that many people who shared our passion were being ostracized and even banned from these platforms without any justifiable reason.
Rather than accepting this status quo, we decided to take matters into our own hands and create a space where outdoor enthusiasts could connect with one another and share their experiences without fear of censorship or persecution. The idea for GoWild was born when four cofounders from rural America came together and brainstormed a mission to build a platform that was solely dedicated to the outdoor lifestyle.
Over several months, we worked tirelessly to develop and refine the app, pouring our hearts and souls into every aspect of its creation. We met on holidays, weekends, and often worked late into the night to ensure that we were creating a platform that would truly serve the needs of our community. And on September 8, 2017, we launched the beta version of GoWild to the world.
Since then, we have continued to expand and evolve our platform, bringing new features and capabilities to our users. We launched the Android version of the app just six months later and added a Garmin app and integration in January of 2019. And in 2020, we introduced our desktop experience, which not only includes robust gear shopping options but also price monitoring, allowing users to find the best deals on the equipment they need to enjoy the great outdoors to the fullest.
At GoWild, we are dedicated to providing a safe, supportive, and inclusive space for outdoor enthusiasts to connect with one another, share their knowledge and experience, and learn from one another. We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to explore the beauty and wonder of nature, and we are proud to be a part of a community that is passionate about making that dream a reality.
